Carolina Blue & White Holiday

We all remember drinking from the Old Well on the first day of our first year – smelling the sweet azaleas and letting that Carolina Blue sky imprint in our minds – as we praised the Old Well for that promised 4.0.

Well, turns out UNC wanted a lot of us as first-years, and a few missed classes after some late night domination of dook didn’t help get that 4.0 (and maybe we stood in line a bit too long for some basketball tickets, and possibly had a few late nights after sneaking in to ToPo).

But after the semester, the Old Well was always at it’s most peaceful in the winter – right after fall finals and before spring classes – when we all made a quick detour on Cameron as we drove back home for Christmas, stopping for once last glimpse of that white snow as it fell gently on Polk Place.

It’s time for A2C2 to celebrate our first Christmas.

Tentatively, alumni Susan Allison, ’89, has offered her home for a fantastic Carolina Blue and White Christmas Party, where we’ll be making gifts for Ozone House, sharing some cocktails, and celebrating the holiday in Tar Heel style (and, of course, welcoming her young Tar Heels back home for the winter holiday!).

Bring your family, favorite dish, and a bottle of wine:
A2C2 wants everyone to join in the holiday spirit!

We’ll be preparing gifts for the community of Ozone House, one of SE Michigan’s most influential charities that provides support to local youth to combat homelessness in our region. As so many alumni, faculty, staff, and students have provided for us, we’re showing SE Michigan what our Tar Heels care about and what we stand for by supporting our region, and fighting for young adults who may one day be Tar Heels.

God blessed us Tar Heels,
so we of course are giving back to SE Michigan for the holiday!

Come help us celebrate the holiday, and of course spread the word to alumni in the area to register their local address and follow our Facebook so you know what you can bring to help Ozone House! We can’t wait to wish you a “Merry Christmas”, and you, your family, and your friends a happy New Year, where A2C2 will be planning an outstanding spring full of basketball and the growing vibrance of our alumni network in SE Michigan.

Everyone’s welcome – your gift is the Tar Heel spirit,
and we can’t wait for everyone to join!
